ACK-045: Panchatantra - The Brahmin and the Goat

My thanks to all persons who are participating in polling. Trend is showing that most of friends wish to read Jataka, Panchatantra, others similar tales first. OK.
I promised to be more active this year. I can inform you today, 30+ ACK are coming with interval of 1-2 days.

You have opportunity to choose next posts.

Here is leader. Enjoy.
*****************************************************************
How the tales of the Panchatantra came to be told is itself an interesting story (read earlier post). The etymology of term ‘Panchatantra’ suggests that it is a combination of two words, ‘Pancha’ (five) and ‘Tantra’ (practice/ principle). So, the five principles or practices illustrated by Panchatantra are ‘Mitra Bhedha’ (Loss of Friends), ‘Mitra Laabha’ (Gaining Friends), ‘Suhrudbheda’ (Causing discord between Friends), ‘Vigraha’ (Separation) and ‘Sandhi’ (Union). Here are provided some of the popular tales from Panchatantra.
The study of the theories of philosophy, psychology and statecraft became engrossing when Vishnu Sharma drove the moral home through the mouths of talking animals and their escapades.
One unique feature of the tales is that most of the characters are animals; another, the tales form a chain of stories; a third, each of the tales has a distinct moral; and yet another, the tales have different levels of appeal.
The Panchatantra is the best guide to enroot moral values in children since its each tale has a moral lesson in its end. The morals which the Panchatantra seeks to teach continue to be relevant to this day and the stories themselves have not lost their novelty even two thousand years after they were first told.

Read Panchtantra stories online.

Many many thanks to our new member “Apoorva Chandar” for providing ACK scan.

  4. TIA: Did you read all IJC I posted in last 2-3 months? My best regards to you, dear friend. I post in bulk for people like you. SOON POST SOME MORE. :)))

Pls wait till Feb. (may be earlier) mostly will be available in my other blog, WE are working on it. This list contains information what I received till 31th Dec. Some more are coming.

In list I wrote clearly - COMING POST, who is contributor, language & marked with red colour. Pls check it. My contributor friends inform me in advance & we plan posts. Our (contributors & mine) goal is to provide all IJC to you as soon as possible. Very few of people who have great collection, but desire to share. WE (contributors & I) strongly believe, if it scanned, then in shortest time should be provided to you. You know, I don’t post 1 IJC & wait for comments. That blog is 100% COMICS BLOG. In my first post I announced it. And I’m following what I set goal for that blog- “to turn into an e-library of some of my favorite comics”. :)))

    BUT in ACK case:

We (all ACK team – who posts & contributes) are follower of ANANT PAI. Through these we are spreading information about India, not only to Indian but all citizen of world. I take sometimes to post in this blog because these are not mare comics, but history.
It’s not difficult, but easier task for me to post all once, without any details. All are hardcore selfless contributors; they can scan in 2-3 months all ACK. But feel, it’ll crime.
I started posting with already available scans; idea (with information posting) was not only supported by all contributors, but mostly visitors.
I find a balance, this year I’ll try to post 150+ (if scans will ready then all, I’ll not disappoint any old or new contributor) ACK. For it, I can stop or go slow in other blog (don’t worry posting IJC & other comics will continue, I know, I can do it). So, not only has who taken ACK as comics will be happy, but intellectual persons too. Many write me directly & regularly to continue tradition of ACK blog. That is why I told last year, I’ll try to post more in 2009. There was need to plan, now WE are ready. I see this goal is achievable.
